FIVE LIGHTER SPARKLERS FOR SUMMER
Well, we saw lots of interesting things during the pandemic, but one of the more surprising was watching an uptick in sales in our little sparkling wine department. With bubblies like these, it's no wonder people were enjoying themselves.
We noticed some pretty interesting things during the lockdown. In the very beginning of the pandemic it was high-end wine and booze, along with pasta, cheeses, grocery items and such, but as people settled into knowing this was to be the “new normal” for a bit, we saw more and more affordable sparkling wines added to people’s shopping carts. I can’t say I know exactly what the thinking was, but I assume people have been trying to find joy and some extra merriment in what has been a rather insane year-and-a-half.
Even now that things are starting to normalize, I come back from my days off and our sparkling wine department has been stripped, leaving me with fresh holes to fill. As a 25-year bubble lover, this not only pleases me, but I am thrilled that I’ve found my tribe!
So, with this warmer weather creeping up on us, I thought I would help my fellow sparkling wine fanatics and put together a little list of fun, lighter sparklers to try. Not wines of richness or yeastiness. No, these are fresh little sparklers that taste fantastic on a warm afternoon or evening.
Keep coming in and adding these bubbles to your cart, and I promise you that your local wine merchant will stay on the hunt for even more bubble-liscious wines to splash about in.
